This picture shows our senior osteopath Tom, having just cycled up the Col de la Madeleine, in the French Alps, in July 2023.  Twelve months beforehand Tom was in a hospital bed recovering from two rounds of surgery following a serious bike accident.

“There is nothing like having all your mobility taken away to spur you on to make a full recovery. I was determined to get back to the two sports that I loved, cycling and running. It took a couple of months before I could walk without a limp, but I spent the winter training on my bike and gradually increasing my running. It was so satisfying to see my fitness come back! The Col de la Madeleine has featured in the Tour de France many times. It’s a tough climb, but hugely satisfying, and the views from the top over the Mont Blanc massif are incredible”

Well done Tom!
