Emily is an Acupuncturist and Craniosacral Therapist with a BSc (Hons) in Integrated Chinese Medicine and a diploma in Craniosacral Therapy. She is a a member of the Acupuncture for Childbirth Team (ACT) and one of the founders of the Women's Multibed Acupuncture Clinic in Oxford.
Emily works with a particular interest in supporting gynecological health, working to support couples in their journey towards parenthood, and supporting women through pregnancy towards a positive birth and postpartum experience.
Her committed yoga and meditation practice greatly inform her clinical work. In 2006 and 2011 she spent stretches of time studying yoga and philosophy in India which introduced her to the benefits of Pranayama 'the practice of controlling and working with the breath' meditation and the beneficial effect of a mindful movement practice for both body and consciousness.
In 2011 Emily spent time running a multi bed Acupuncture clinic in India treating a community of children, young people and women affected by drug and human trafficking. It was here that she witnessed the efficacy of Craniosacral work for children and those affected by trauma. Emily begun her training in Craniosacral Therapy at the College of Craniosacral Therapy in 2013. The training spanned the course of two years and included working with both adults and children.
Emily is interested in the role that early experiences and circumstances play in shaping our present state of health. She works with the understanding that our bodies 'remember' on both psychological and somatic plains and that this is an important element in working with guiding the body mind through a process to wellness.
Emily is committed to her continued professional development and also undertakes regular supervision with a body centered psychotherapist.
