Nicholas Langdon

I am a psychodynamic counsellor in private practice in Oxford and Abingdon.

I offer short, medium and long-term individual psychodynamic counselling.

I completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Practice in 1993 and undertook my own therapy for several years as part of this training.

My therapeutic approach is a psychodynamic model which draws on psychoanalytic theory. Where appropriate I incorporate elements from other approaches including; CBT, Humanistic therapy, Mindfulness and Existential therapy. This provides a framework for a personalised approach which is calm, compassionate and mindful.

Having worked in mental health care over for over 30 years I have experience in providing a safe and confidential therapeutic relationship that offers a balance of support and challenge. It is the relationship that is at the heart of the healing process as it facilitates and enables personal development towards positive change.

As a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and I abide by their codes of ethics and practice. This includes a commitment to continued learning towards further professional accreditation and regular supervision for my therapeutic work.

Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes in duration at the same time each week. The sessions are £50 each. Concessions can be considered.
