Shoulder stretches video
Simple shoulder stretches video now available on our website.
Tom Bedford has produced a new stretching video featuring Massage Therapist Chris Haworth! Chris demonstrates six simple shoulder stretches. You can access the video here (scroll down for the embedded video) or on our new YouTube channel.
Stretching helps to improve flexibility and if done gently and consistently also will increase the range of motion of the joints, which in turn may help to prevent injury.
For your safety:
Warm up your muscles before stretching with light activity such as walking or jogging in place for a few minutes. The best time to perform static stretches is after exercise.
Never stretch into pain; it is important not to over-stretch or bounce when stretching. Bouncing or ballistic stretching makes the range of motion harder to control and as a general rule is not recommended for beginners or those who are treating an injury.
The more regularly you stretch the greater the cumulative benefits over time.
